Nada Mays is a Registered Dietitian and professionally trained chef. She completed her master’s in Community and Public Health Nutrition at Saint Elizabeth University after studying culinary arts at Johnson & Wales.
Nada owns Nutrition By Nada, her insurance-based private practice serving PA, NJ, and NY. Mays specializes in culturally inclusive nutrition counseling. Her lived experience as a Black and Palestinian woman informs her work and advocacy. She is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the chair-elect of the Hunger and Environmental Nutrition Practice Group.
Nada blends her background in national and international public health, culinary arts, clinical nutrition, and experience as a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer in the Kingdom of eSwatini, Africa, to provide personalized and culturally inclusive nutrition support through her work. In her previous position, she developed and supervised Brooklyn Drive Down Diabetes, a free program tailored to serve people of color through culturally inclusive nutrition. Nada also consults and freelances as a food and nutrition writer and recipe developer. She loves food and supporting health equity through food and nutrition.
